Seven wonders of the world

SEVEN WONDERS OF THE WORLD 

1. Great Wall of China:- The great Wall of China is created to protect the borders of Chinese empire from invading Mongolians and other invader. It was over 6,000 km long. It is a world largest wall.  The Wall of China is built by Qin Shihuang in 1368-1644.

2. Taj Mahal:-Taj mahal at Agra, India is one of the seven wonders of the world. It as a monument to love. Taj Mahal is built in 17 century by India`s emperor of Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth. Makrana Marble which was used in Tajmahal , was brought from Makrana, Rajasthan (India.).

3. Chichen Itza:- All the buildings at Chichen Itza are made out of stone. Chichen Itza is one of Mexico’s most popular tourist destination. Chichen Itza is perhaps the largest and  most famous  Mayan site, about 125 kilometers west of Cancun and Cozumel. 

4. Christ the Redeemer:- Christ the Redeemer is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Christ the Redeemer is a statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Christ the Redeemer, Construction between1922-1931

5. Colosseum:-  This amazing Colosseum is the largest Amphitheatre built by the Roman Empire.The arena was 287 ft long and 180 ft wide. The arena was covered with 15cm of sand.  It was used for Roman entertainment such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, and ruthless executions. It is also use for dramas of Classical mythology. 

6. Machu Picchu:- Machu Picchu was built around 1450, at the height of the Inca Empire.  Machu Picchu was used as a major religious, learning, astronomical, and agricultural center; and now, it is a major tourist attraction in Peru. It was built on top of a mountain.

7. Petra:- Petra means “rock” in Greek. Petra is more popular for its 800 individual monuments that includes buildings, tombs, baths, funerary halls, temples, arched gateways, and colonnaded streets.
