1. This year the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on Thursday september 17, 2015
2. According to the Hindu calendar month of Badr Shukla Chaturthi is celebrated each year.
3. September 17, 2015 , the time of worship is 11:45 AM to 2:46 PM.
4. It is believed that should look at moon in night, doing this in night person may be fall in false charges. ( It's assumed not real, We don't have such facts to prove that )
5. To fulfill all your wishes you may have Ganesha chaturthi`s fast.
6. Workship of Lord ganesh gives us piece, happiness, prosperty, intellectual etc
7. Also known as Vinayak G, Ganpati.
8. Also first workshipped ( Pratham Pujya ) God among all Gods.
Story of Ganesh Chaturthi
It's assumed that at the time of bathing Godess Parvati. She needs a person who is loyal to her and can guard the door of her home. Once he tried with Nandi who was follower of Lord shiva but he failed to stop Lord Shiva because he was first loyal of his God Shiva that time Godess Parvati was angry and looking a solution or person who is loyal to her and can obey his order in any situation. So she decided and made a statue by turmeric powder from her body which is used for his bathe and give breath of life to him.
When she wished to bathe. She instructed to guard his house. No one should allowed to enter inside. After some while Lord Shiva came there and tried to enter. But a loyal boy of Godess Parvati just refused to enter inside his own house. He was surprised that a unknown boy is saying me to not go inside his own house. Usually Lord Shiva is very peaceful kind of but in that situation he got angry and instructed his followers or army to killed and clean the way but they couldn't do that all were failed to defeat him.
He thought this is not a ordinary boy and this time Lord Shiva was much angry. So decided to fight with him. In this fight due to divine power of Lord Shiva they cut off the head of that boy ( Lord Ganesha ). As soon as Goddess Parvati learned, She angered and decided to destroy entire creation and life of all. Then all Gods becomes fearful and including Lord Brahma, Vishnu requested to Lord Shiva ( Bholenath ) to clam down and return his life.

Goddess Parvati raised two conditions to save entire creation is that first back his boy's life and second he ( Lord Ganesha) is being worshipped always first. By the time Lord Shiva cooled down and agreed to her conditions. He sent Brahma to get head of first creature in his side. Brahma soon returned with the head of very powerful & strong elephant. Lord Shiva place on his body and breathe lifes to him. As well blessed with him as a first son of own and he is being formost ( every time first) workshipped in all gods.
The whole incident took place on fourth Shukla Badr paksha, that’s why Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on this day.
