                                                                            KUMBHALGARTH FORT

Kumbhalgarh Fort is the second most important fort of  Rajasthan after Chittorgarh Fort. The inner fort is known as the Kartargarh Fort.

Located at a distance of 80 kms from Udaipur, Rajasthan (India). The distance from the Udaipur airport to the Kumbhalgarh Fort is 95km. Situated across the Aravalli ranges it is located at around 1100 meters above sea level. Kumbhalgarh is also the birth place of Maharana Pratap,The fort extend to the length of 36 kilometers and this fact has made this fort to be in the international records.

Built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha and enlarged through the 19th century, Occupied until the late 19th century. Kumbhalgarh has seven fortified gateways,  gateways known as Halla Pol, Hanuman Pol, Ram Pol, Vijay Pol,   Bhairon Pol,  Nimboo Pol and  Paghra Pol... The most important fact related to the fort is that it has never been conquered.

There are a large numbers of temples inside the Kumbhalgarh fort. Famous temple is the Vedi temple, which was also built by Rana Kumbha Another famous Ganesha temple that was built by Maharana Pratap.

There are over 360 temples within the fort, 300 Jain temples  and the rest Hindus temple. From the palace top, it is possible to see kilometers into the Aravalli Range. Its wall is the second largest wall in the world, after, “the Great Wall of China”  and is known as, “ the Great Wall of India”. The frontal walls are fifteen feet thick.
